Xecue Wines is a company created by Jose Luis and Alberta with desire to share their knowledge and passion for wine , Xecue ( Checué ) is a Kiliwa word that means " love" and represents the paths union for the love of wine.
La Bodega is native of Ensenada Baja California , located on the Wine Route , founded by a couple of engineers motivated by their love to the land and its products , they decided to apply the experience gained during their service in vineyards and wineries on a familiar project.
Engr. Alberta Ceja Medina, biochemistry in Foods specialty in Enology, she worked in leading companies in the area of quality such as Coca Cola Mazatlan and Grupo Modelo, then spent 10 years as Head of Quality Assurance at Allied- Domecq getting to handle up to 12 thousand tons of grapes for harvest. Since 2004, manages its own Industrial and Food Analysis Laboratory and together with José Luis engaged in developing their Xecue Wines.
Engr. José Luis Hernandez is originally from Tijuana , BC, Agricultural Engineer with 35 years of experience as a winemaker , has been at the forefront of important Viticultural Ranches , handling more than 600 hectares of vineyards of all varieties known in the region, same as They provided important grape wine companies such as Allied- Domecq and LA Cetto , Viticultural Consultant currently specializing in the management of small vineyards of Premium Quality , including his own grapes and Bodega Xecue.
The working philosophy of Xecue it’s aimed for the consumer to appreciate and fully distinguish the terroirs and the expression of varieties adapted to the region, so the strains selected were Merlot Valle de Guadalupe and Cabernet Sauvignon St Vincent Wine varietals.
Our Special Reserve, the premium wine cellar made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot , Syrah and Nebbiolo in which the various soils of the region are expressed : Valle de Guadalupe, San Antonio de las Minas and San Vicente.
